Slot 1: Sediakan Payung Sebelum Hujan
Malang tidak berbau. Dalam dunia yang penuh pancaroba, pelbagai kemungkinan boleh terjadi. Terdapat beberapa insiden yang berlaku membabitkan pelajar-pelajar Malaysia di Adelaide ini. Slot ini bertujuan memberi pendedahan tentang langkah awal dan persediaan menghadapi situasi ini.

Ini adalah lanjutan daripada slot 1 BMH9 dan disequelkan atas maklum balas yang positif daripada audiens. Jika dalam BMH9, penekanan lebih diberi kepada strategi dan pencegahan, kali ini fokus lebih kepada asas-asas pertahanan diri. Lebih praktikal, senang cerita.

Audiens diingatkan supaya memakai pakaian yang bersesuaian. Teknik-teknik yang diajar mungkin nampak mudah. Cuba dulu baru tahu.

Slot 2: PCRF: Bringing Medical Relief to Palestine
The Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza face tremendous challenges trying to access medical and health care. The main cause of this is the Israeli Occupation. There are also millions of Palestinians in the neighbouring countries of Lebanon,Syria and Jordan who suffer the same plight because of their displacement.

PCRF, the Palestine Childrens’ Relief Fund is a non-political, non-partisan organisation that provides opportunities for treatment of Palestinians at home and abroad. It also brings in medical and surgical teams to provide care that is not available for the Palestinians.

This presentation is an introduction to PCRF, their effort, what they do and how you can do your bit of help. The presentation will be given by Dr Francis & Merlin Nathan.

What do you really want?

This riff is another preview of the upcoming BMH. Just to get the ball rolling, eh?

Toyota is the leader in automobile industry, even surpassing GM in worldwide vehicle sales – a feat that marks the end of one of the longest runs of dominance in all of global industry.

How Toyota achieve that?
The 3rd principle of The Toyota Way is use “pull” system to avoid overproduction. Now, what’s that mean?

This is “pull” system. No, kidding!

This is what “pull” system looks like

What it really means is: producing only what’s needed and transferring only what’s needed. The “pull” system produces only the required material after the subsequent operation signals a need for it. If there’s a need, they’ll produce it. Otherwise, they do nothing. No wasted effort. No wasted resources. That’s no surprise since the objective of the “pull” system is to maximize value by eliminating waste.

Why is it relevant to you?
You can adopt this strategy and get what you want. Only do what you really need to achieve what you really want (in Toyota’s case: cars, lots and lots and lots of cars). No wasted effort. That’s ultimate productivity, folk!

The only problem is: you couldn’t possibly know what you need to do in order to achieve what you want if you don’t know what you want in the first place. Which brings us back to – what do you really want?

Where’s my goalpost, mate?

This is the preview of upcoming BMH.

(Won’t be discussed in BMH. It’s just to get you started) =)

Simple. It’s so simple it’s scary. To get anything you want, there are only 2 important steps that count. Do these right and you’re free to add in any other steps. Skip these and all your other steps won’t count.

1. Decide what you want to do
2. Do what you’ve decided

Simple, eh?

Yet, most of us (yes, even yours truly) do not do it right sometimes.

Here’s the typical implementation of that 2 steps:
1. ————————–
2. Do – whatever

That’s a recipe for disaster or at least it’s not a surefire way to succeed. Why? Because we haven’t define success in the first place. Simply put, where’s the goalpost, mate? We can’t score without goalpost. We can’t get a strike (or spare) if we don’t have pins.

Worse, since we don’t have any direction, any path will do. We do things out of routine. We do things because that’s what everyone wants us to do. We do things because that’s what indoctrinated upon us.

We go to class because we have to. I don’t even know what we’re suppose to learn today.
We go to university because that’s what everyone does. When you have degree, your salary should be higher right?
We go oversea because… it’s cool! Hey, have you been to Gold Coast?

We’re already good at doing things (there’s always room for improvement, though). It’s just that we have slight problems with what we’re doing and determining the outcome of our action.

Question (it’s kinda rhetorical) : Where do you see yourself in 3, 5 and 10 years?

Bonus question: What’s your projected outcome of attending the next BMH?

Interviewer: What’s your preference place of working?
Interviewee: I haven’t planned yet.
Interviewer: Ok, we’ll place wherever we the company needs. I think we need more employees in Bintulu. Are you ok with that?
Interviewee: Haa… yes yes..(No..No…he cried in his heart. Bintulu is very ‘hulu’ to me)
Interviewer: Next question, what do you think you are going to be in 5, 10 and 20 years time?

“Eh, Ahmad. Hari ini ada group meeting, kau tau tak?” kata Ali.

Sambutan Maulidur Rasul Peringkat Adelaide

Pihak MASCA SA bahagian Bicara Minda dan Hati, Kelab UMNO SA beserta MISSA telah bekerjasama dalam menganjurkan program sambutan Maulidur Rasul dengan tema Moga Cintaku Berputik.

Majlis dimulakan dengan ucapan aluan oleh Pengarah Program, saudara Muhammad Shah yang menyatakan penghargaan kepada ahli jawatankuasa yang berusaha dalam menjayakan program. Program diteruskan dengan persembahan multimedia bertajuk Kisah Hidup Khalid yang mengisahkan bagaimana seorang mahasiswa membuat perubahan diri setelah menghayati sirah Rasulullah saw.

Majlis diteruskan dengan ceramah, Moga Cintaku Berputik, yang disampaikan oleh penceramah jemputan dari Melbourne, Ustaz Nushi Mahfodz. Beliau memulakan ceramahnya dengan memetik surah Ali Imran: 63 yang menceritakan tentang perpaduan adalah kurniaan Allah. Ceramah beliau dikembangkan lagi dengan memetik beberapa kisah daripada sirah Nabawiyah dan bagaimana seharusnya kisah itu difahami agar terus ‘hidup’ dalam suasana hari ini.

Memandangkan ruang yang terhad, saya mencadangkan pihak pembaca untuk menghantar email kepada saudara Syukri, di janjilaxamana@gmail.com untuk mendapatkan rakaman penuh ceramah tersebut.
Persembahan Multimedia 2 bertajuk Kau Istimewa ditayangkan sebagai kesimpulan kepada ceramah. Isi kandungan kuliah tersebut berkisar tentang beberapa peristiwa penting yang berlaku dalam sirah dengan diiringi nasyid dan sedutan filem The Messenger.

Acara diteruskan dengan penganjuran kuiz sirah bersama para peserta yang mendapat sambutan hangat daripada para peserta. Majlis diakhiri dengan penyampaian cenderahati kepada penceramah serta makan tengah hari.

Semoga program ini tercapai objektifnya, untuk memutik rasa cinta pada Rasulullah saw yang membawa kepada penghayatan terhadap sunnah Nabi.
